The Knowledge
From time's first dawning
Knowledge have we pursued
An honest quest
For were we made for such
Yet we erred by overreaching
Grasping at what ours was never meant to be
From grace and peace we fell
Not content just to be
To seek the One who always seeks us
Not content to learn our place
So toward the darkness did we move
And left behind the God who made us
And left behind the One who loves us
And so we sought to build our place
To build the temple were all is known
In the dark
Away from the Light
Here we seek that which drives us
Never resting, never being
Always seeking, but not remembering
Memories gone of Eden's bliss
Yet the knowledge denied is what we have!
