Through The Eyes of a Child
Through the eyes of a child,
Can you tell me what you see?-
Mom has the door to her bedroom closed again,
Tonight she won't be sleeping with me-
We don't do the fun things we used to,
And you never have time to play-
It seems like there's always some stranger coming by to spend the night,
Trying to take my mom away-
All i want is to be a part, but you send me to be alone-
Sure, I have toys to play with but I miss your touch,
Always going out, why don't you stay at home?-
Poor baby doesn't understand that mom has needs too-
Sometimes she has to compromise her reputation,
Putting up with the whims of a man to provide for you-
No one to call dad, no camping trips, no baseball games-
You'll grow up to forget those strangers, forget those nights, and forget their names- Hoping to be a better person for all it's worth
It's just a stage in life-
Sad to see what happens in half a home,
Without the elements of husband and wife...
