We aint got a lot of cash,
To buy couple of benz,
But we got a smile,
That's worth the same,
We was born deprived,
As I grew up through years,
I learn how to smile,
Kept dreamin all the while
We fought amongst-
Momma tried to teach us
All we had was one other,
But I never gave it much care,
This place was drivin me crazy,
Seein young girls with babies,
I had a plan to get out,
To make it to the right door,
I stayed awake a nite dreamin,
Tellin who was there to listen,
About my hopes and my plans,
They tell me it just me wishin,
All week I kept working,
While my peers havin fun,
I was keeping my dreams alive,
Through this rhymes I survived,
Dinner was on the stove,
When I made it home at ten,
Hungry I been for a while,
I could barely fight it,
My momma made no miracles,
But she made dinner every nite,
For that I was thankful to her,
Never went to bed a hungry child.
