Now and Then

On a pedestal, higher than any before, I 've placed you in the past,
You lived among clouds, and rose among stars,
Smile and kisses of yours were of heaven's gift,
A hug from your heart was a smile from God,
To be in your company was a glimpse of heaven,

All that was but a few months ago,

I've opened my eyes to see who you really are,
Even when you stood above me, you are lower than any I've know,
Your kisses are not filled with delight, and in your smile, I sense the devil grin,
Full of lust you are when you hug me, and so cold I feel as you hold me tight,
Being next to you, I feel even more alone, for I've abandon the real me tonight.
