Sand dollars on the beach
Deposited by on-rushing waves
Dried by the beaming sunshine
Seagulls land and strut and search
Bright eyes perceive the “ocean money”
Shells in beaks tossed among friends
Each wave deposits more treasure
Lovely shells sparkle on the sand
Seaweed in green clumps dries
Beware the glistening jellyfish
Tough struggling, his tentacles vicious
His Life short, on the hot sand
Starfish stranded by the mighty surf
Quickly dried in eternal beauty
Sunlight brightly adds to their gleam
I wander through the incoming salty waves
My bucket soon filled by beauties from the deep
My heart saddened that the treasures had to die
You are so lovely on display in my kitchen window
Paint and glitter showcase your beauty
Sunlight streams through windows to again kiss you
