Where Were You
at times when i feel
so all alone
and on this troubled life
i reflect
it occurs to me
how foolish i've been
your proclamation of love
i so wanted to believe
to realize now it was all a lie
for in the many times
i needed you so
you were never there
mental meltdown, cold hospital room
where were you but
in the importance of you
no time for me
long, lonely drive
coming home to you
where were you
taking someone else to our bed
life full circle i have come
and once again you are gone
difference now it seems
as in all the times before, He is here
