On the Other Hand
I was sitting in a bar one day
Looking 4 answers at the bottom of a glass.
Look at my watch and to my surprise
Not Much Time Had Passed.
I order another, and another, and another after that
It seemed I couldn't get enough to drink.
I had no clue this is what it would take
For me to take the time and think.
My marriage was failing and here I was
Trying to drink away my sorrows.
At the time it really didn’t matter
If I lived to see tomorrow.
Then this beautiful woman walked up to me
Said it seems I’m having problems.
Yes and I wish I had some help
But these problems I must solve them.
She said here, I know we just met
But here’s my number, give me a call, by the way, I’m Ann
Nice to meet you but I can’t take this
Because of what’s on the other hand.
You must know things aren’t going well
But I can’t quit, u must understand.
The reason this can’t go further than this drink
Is on the other hand.
I’d like to take that chance
But it would only be a one-night stand
As good as it may sound and as good as it may be
What’s stopping me is on the other hand.
My wife would never forgive
Despite the problems we’re having
I try to keep a smile on my face
When inside my world was crashing.
If I could I would keep in touch with you
The weakness of my heart say’s I can
But the chances of that will never come true
As long as this ring is on the other hand.
At times u may see it, at times you may not
I don’t wear it all the time.
Jus because u may miss it
The meaning lets me know, we’ll b just fine
