Father

I love my mother and I’m sure you do too
After all she brought you into the world
When asked what do you want?
She replied " a healthy boy or girl "

But what about the help she had
She didn’t conceive you by herself
Just because he wasn’t there
Doesn’t mean he didn’t help

I’m talking about the man
Whom, your mother used to get the seed
It doesn’t mean you should disrespect him
Because he couldn’t handle your needs

Mother’s day come around
Mother’s have so many songs
For once I’d like to here one for fathers
Besides Papa Was A Rolling Stone

I’m talking about real fathers
The one’s who take good care of their kids
Even those who are with a woman
And taking care of those that aren’t his

Like my father, all 3 of us are his
But there’s one more who isn’t but is still one of his kids
My father is a special man
If only the men today were like my dad
There isn’t anything he wouldn’t do for us
No matter how little he had

My dad put 3 kids through school
All involved in school events
And out of all the events of 3 children
He made sure that he went

Two sons from in football, track and basketball
From the ages of 5 and 6
I can’t recall one he missed
And for 14 years of my life and 15 of my brothers

My Dad did this
He also had a daughter for whom he did the same
I’m talking about between 3 kids
Well over 1,000 athletic games

My mother was there beside that man
They were there when work made things harder
Mothers are great but for two sons
There’s nothing like having their father

Growing up we had many friends
All welcome at our house
What he did for one he did for all
My dad always helped out

I know he won’t always be around
Let’s face it we all have to die
I’ll be blessed to have known my father
So when I cry, I’ll know why

Now 32 years later, my parents are still together
Living in the same little home
I’m glad my Dad didn’t live up to
That damn Temptations, Rolling Stone Song
