Marry Me

I was sitting in the park one day
With my girl about to propose
When out of nowhere this guy shows up
Where he came from man who knows
I was down on one knee
In my hand I had the ring
When he opened up and said
Baby will you marry me
I tried to be cool
I didn’t know what was going on
I figured I’d better find out the truth
So I didn’t cause this brother harm
I jumped up, who r u, what is your name
My girl said Daryl
This is my exboyfriend Shane
Look bro now isn’t the time
Don’t you get it I don’t think you understand?
I’ve already went to her father
I’ve already asked for her hand
So if you don’t mind get outta here
Let me finish what I started
Looking at my girl, I saw she was confused
Someone was about 2 be brokenhearted
I put the ring in my pocket, grabbed the ring case
Started to walk away
Left her and him standing there
Wanting him written all over her face

I got home, got undressed
Sat down and started to cry
Placed the ring at the bottom of a glass of Brandy
About to swallow it when it appeared in the corner of my eye
There she was standing there
With the same tears I was crying running down her face
She said " baby I loved him a long time ago
He could never take you place
I can’t believe you walked away
Why did u leave me there like that?" because
I wanted to make it easy for you
To decide where your heart was
"Were u about to swallow my ring
U doubted my love 4 u?"
I couldn’t have done it I just thought I was
Til your love showed me the truth
"Well not that my past is just that the past
Can you finish what you started with me?"
Just when I was about to ask
She went in the kitchen and got another glass
Came back with another ring got down on one knee
And asked will you marry me
I said hell yeah I will
She smiled and said you better
Then we raised our glass, held each other close
Sat there and cried together.
