when i was but a kid
i would hear my daddy say
i love you most to my mother
no you don't she would tease
i love you mostest, there is no other
a tender love game
they would play
with letters,cards and words
passed down thru the years
even now past his dying day
it was said to all of us
and to the grandkids too
never quit at I LOVE YOU
my kids would add i love you more
as they would walk out the door
i never thought i would find
someone who knew the game
until tonight when i hear
those very words
from my hearts new flame
as we were ending
our brief talk
about to say goodnight
my heart opened another door
when he said I LOVE YOU MORE!
