Sitting here in this great hall
I commence to defend love
Show to the devil that love is above all
I’ll let you enter and listen in
If you promise to be still and keen,
Devil: Love is a game of fools,
I: Why? Because it does not have a set of rules,
Devil: Love brings misery to ones soul,
I: It soothes the heart that once was cold,
Devil: Love fills one’s mind with unreachable hope,
I: But it doesn’t put fear causing someone to elope,
Devil: Love produces such madness,
I: But life without love one is filled with such sadness,
Devil: Love puts one in a mess,
I: However it does not leave one to guess.
Devil: Without love the world would do just fine,
I: Have you bring drinking a little too much wine?
I: A life is nurtured with the love as its real meaning,
Devil: Over the years that life requires continuous healing,
I: A risk is taken when love is sought after,
Devil: It seems to me love is a bit rafter,
I: I for one may choose love over and over,
Devil: You sound like a dog by the name called rover,
I: Loyal to love is the ultimate satisfaction,
Devil: Well you will not have my ratification,
I: Pleasure is not described without love being stated,
Devil: but it does not come empty, always fully bated
So my friends you see the argument still exists,
If you wish to stay be still as the summers eve,
Watch me in action as I take on the devil,
Cease the talk amongst each other avoiding cavil,
As I teach the devil the notion of love,
Wishing my soul flying like a free dove.
