Drink and Tale

Join me for a drink,
You ask me from across the room,
I gather my belongings and walk over,
After gulping the first shot,
U look at me in despair,
I know I shouldn't say this,
But I ask what is the matter?
Little do I know that you tell me a tale,
Of lost love that you once had,
She was the perfect girlfriend,
Made you smile even when you were stressed,
Gave you hugs and made u feel blessed,
Listening to you going on an on,
I zone out of your tale,
Seeing myself sitting on the other side,
Now I know how it feels to have despair,
We order another round and onwards you go,
First blaming yourself for the love you did not show,
Then blaming her, for giving your heart a blow,
Out of the blue I raise my palm,
And tell you stop talking,
I have heard this nonsense before,
Not it's not the booze talking,

Let me tell you what you can do my friend,
You can drink away your sorrow,
Till you run out of cash,
And then come back tomorrow,
And spend the rest of your stash,

But a man such as you know better,
Than to cry,
You are grown man now,
Not a twinkle in your mother's eye,

So get up and go on out of here,
For someone else is waiting to take this place,
You have much to look forward to,
There are plenty of woman in the sea left
For you to go and chase.
