Friend

I only you known for a few days or so,
Yet it feels like I have known you for years,
Just to hear you say hi makes me feel good,
I cannot wait to call you when I wake up,
I try keeping myself busy, by reading, and cleaning,
But my ears keep hearing your voice,
When I hear you smile, I feel great inside,
After talking with you on the telephone,
I wish I could call you back and start again,
No, No, but I must control myself,
I am just a guy who happens to meet you,
who you just happen to give your number to,
You being up front and saying the truth, it's just so different,
You are somehow different from the rest of the world,
You challenge me in ways I had always hoped for,
It is a feeling I am unable to describe,
I hope our friendship shines like the sun,
But does not wither away like a flower.
