Eulogy

In memory...

It was spring when you closed for an early summer,
Encountering the war inside every time you had to remember.
Cherry colored filters laminated themselves onto what visions you conjure,
Sensational nothingness, as you try to bring the ties closer
But it would take time, as with every other time you awoke like this.
Face sore, and principals beaten, an ocean of lost emotions
fills your void. You would say that your eyes were closed, and it didn't count,
Just as the pinnacle of your love was breached by fear, pain and outrage.
All your desire washed away, and kept at sea with every sensational betrayal
It seemed so captivating; culturing chocolate bruises but denying almost successfully
Even with every hand with which he hit you, only you could beat yourself
Surprise did not last as long, as you sold yourself out and began to accept
Sexy was the word he used for you, the word that stripped you of all emotion
A complement before the pain, the apple before the execution.
We all wept for you, but you had the greatest loss of all.
We lost a loved one, but you lost your humanity.
It appears he stole it from your flesh.
We wish you could have been stronger, but he took so much from you.
It was spring when the final hand fell, and the consequences it held
Forcing you to finally see you didn't have to live like this
But by then you lost your choice
