Born and raised in Houston, TX, by the best parents in the world (Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Brooks Jr).
Trent started writing at an early age.
As a child he would write letters to his parents instead of talking to them.
Then they decided if he couldn't come to them, they were not going to read his letters. (Little did they know that later in life he would become a poet.)

In 1992, he wrote his first poem when he moved to Ames, IA.
In 1995, he moved back to Houston where he was very shy about his poetry (because it was so personal). After he received positive reactions from sharing his work, RealityPoetry.com. became a reality.
